It'll be fixed when S3 release decent drivers for their DeltaChrome series.

i dont know...
As S3 release many ver Driver..

I got ver 15.13.04H Driver From Enginners Directly
(not post on s3graphics.com)

It seems didnot fix....

I ask for Enginner ..maybe Chanka problem (Enginner said Programmers may use ATI/ NVIDIA Display Card for development Chanka, not S3)...

...S3... decent drivers...
Best oxymoron ever. *shot*

But seriously - since the DeltaChrome series seems to have gone down like a lead balloon (I've never seen one at a computer fair, let alone in a retail store - hell, I've seen more Plextor DVD writer drives at computer fairs than I have DeltaChrome cards!) it's hard to imagine anyone putting in decent support for it in their applications. There hasn't ever been much support for their cards - as a former owner of an S3 Savage4 (8 MB, AGP) I can testify to this; about the only game it can run at full speed (just) is Motocross Madness, which has about as much graphic detail as a blank sheet of paper.

Part of the reason for lack of support is down to the fact that S3 never been very popular - their last attempt to impact on the GFX card market was the S3 Savage 2000, which looked great on paper (PC Zone though so anyway) but when it was released (later than planned) it couldn't touch any offering from NVIDIA, or anyone else, for that matter. And it wasn't reasonably cheap either, hence I stuck with my Savage4 until late 2000 when I shifted up to a GeForce 2 MX 64 MB AGP for £100.

Even the Matrox MGA-G200 8 MB onboard GFX (not exactly renowned as being a top gaming card) in my HP Vectra VL could outperform my old Savage4 easily. Granted the Matrox is a bit newer than the Savage4 was, but not that much newer, and Matrox are more renowed for their professional video capture & 3D rendering hardware than for consumer graphics hardware. Whereas S3 don't seem to make anything other than... erm.... consumer graphics hardware. And yet they're not very good at making it (only time it's any good, technically, is when it's very cheap =P).

Nice to see I'm staying on topic here. Anyway, there might be one way of fixing your problem, so try this. Open up Display Properties, go to the Settings tab, and check that the colour level. Try changing it around (in WinXP only 16 and 32-bit are usually available, unless you're in Safe Mode). If that doesn't sort it, click on the "Advanced" button and in the next window, and click on the "Troubleshoot" tab. Try each of the other settings on the slider and see if that solves the problem. If none of those work any better, set it back to "Full" so you don't get problems with other programs / games.

I know that S3G is done witout hardworking on Driver in the past. People always said that Driver have many bugs, as the result, Graphics card perfornamce and compability will become worse. Especially on Savage2000, It's Driver is TOo bad and always cause hang up.

However, S3G is paid a lot of effort on writing driver when Deltachrome came out, S3G updated a lot of version and fix many bugs.
I can see their effort when i report a/ some bugs to enginners and they will try thier best to fix it on next verstion of Driver.
Although Deltachrome Driver still have bugs, the stability on using windows2k/xp is good, no hang up more :p This is Good for S3 , compare with Savage2000 Driver

On Chanka 2.5 Problems...i find that S3 Control Panel can't fixed this problem.
Moreover, i found tha ton Chanka setting, when i use AlphaTestZwrite only, it seems better (still have error), when i use Zwrite only, wores....

I tried with new WHQL Driver ver 15.13.04H1 today..seems didnot fix it...
So i think Chanka may cuase problem..

Just Another Wacko ;)
It's more likely that your video card (or its drivers) do not support some features needed by the emulator. You can try different drivers to see if you can get it to work. If it was a problem of the emulator I doubt that you could make it run without crashing.

DOes any one (Especially programmers of Chanka) know that features dont not support for my Deltachrome under this situation?

I tried many version of driver..
some olders verision driver will cause black screen only
this new ver of driver can see something that i can recognize
(still have a lot of errors on screen)

They say it runs HL-2 well, so try these. It's a long shot, but worth a try.

I honestly doubt it's a problem with Chankast.. as stated many times before, the DeltaChrome isn't bad as far as hardware goes, but S3's drivers are horrible.

I tried.
Seems need to complain with S3G

But i hope Programmers can told me that what error is caused by s3G deltachrome (In Driver, such as Driver miss some special instructions that may cause this problem)?
