rumble feature

I'm using the NRage dinput plugin and for everything else it works fine but the rumble feature isnt doing anything. I have a p2500 and the rumble doesnt work on any game. I have it turned on...its just not doing anything. any help?

OH! I switched from constant rumble to the other one...and selected visual rumble...it works now, but I'd still like someone to explain to me what all these options do, lol
