}}}}} Bug#1 {{{{{

Describe the Problem: All games have various issues with out of place textures, odd colors, some flashing when I use Rice's Daedalus 5.2.0 in DirectX mode. It has been like this for me as long as I can remember. Doesn't seem to make any difference on settings either. Some settings are worse then others, but non are really good enough to play in DirectX mode.

How to Make this Problem Happen: Use Rice's Daedalus any version with the DirectX Render Engine and load a game.

Are you definately using High end combiner, and not the Geforce combiner?

I have tried them all and each has their own issues. Some worse then others. High end combiner obviously works best for me, but even then (although much less) I see what can only be described as tearing, funny colors sometimes, textures that appears out of place. I can take and post some shots if that might help? I had always just assumed that since Rice was creating this plugin using a GF2 that I was simply out of luck and my card does something different then then GF2? I thought I would mention it now though.

Sry to bring up an old thread. I was talking a bit with bryantonline and he, at least in 1080, has some of the issue of what I meant.

I also have noted some textures which appear to be missing.

Note the sky in 1080 and the gun in Goldeneye (also some textures in GE appear blue, like Bond's hair).

I have this same problem also, I am confirming this problem. Can post the same screenshots. This problem is with DirectX in GoldenEye 007 (U) [!], and in 1080 Snowboarding(JU) [!]. Have combiner set to For Higher End Video Cards, and Normal Blender, and Normal Combiner do nothing to fix this!

Same here OpenGL, makes 1080 look fine, but causes more missing textures in other games. Like Goldeneye when I use OpenGL 1.2/1.3/1.4 combiner I can't see the cosshair during the menus and alot of areas turn pure white. Similar things in Mario Golf. Other then the field disapearing when teeing off Mario Golf is almost perfect with DX mode, but OpenGL causes many missing or miscolored textures.

I had this exact problem until the other day when it suddenly fixed itself. I updated to the latest version of Rice and it just started working. Oddly enough earlier versions also started working.

Until then I had always had to use 3D Analyze with emulate HW T&L caps enabled to circumnavigate this kind of behaviour.

A new version of 3D Ani has been released btw, which you may wish to test this plugin with.

3D Analyze seemed to make no difference here. I'm assuming the HW T&L Caps are already functionalfor my card then? I did try removing all the Rice Plugin settings from the registry also. no change. The issues are minor for most games compared to what I used to get in the 5.0.X versions. The flashing of the textures used to be much worse.

Another game is Zelda. Using DX I get 3 suns during the intro, sky texture problems in the intro, and the logo isn't quite right. 3D Analyze does fix this one. OGL "To fit your card" clears this up mostly.

I found a weird bug with the new Rice plugin too.

If use 2nd patched version of 1964, everything works fine!
Then I switch to newest patch for 1964, Rice and glN64 create many flashing
glitches.

I've also tested newest Rice plugin with old patched version, it created more
bugs such as black texture and flashing sprites in games.

Different plugin versions are all using settings saved seperated in registry. Please verify if the settings are the same.

There isn't any core/combiner/blender/texture changes in recent plugin versions.
