Q: The sound cuts off in my game.. what can I do?

A: Well enable this and disable that and do this and click that.. It won't do one damn thing but hey.. it's fun to click on things.

Q: The graphics corrupt in this game.. is there anything I can try?

A: Sure.. save and quit the game whenever that happens.. like ya anyone who has played a Resident Evil game knows you can save anywhere and have an unlimited amount of ribbons...

The solutions offered so far for this game are pointless. The only thing I've noticed is that if you play with the options sometimes instead of the soudn cutting off after 5 minutes it may take 30 minutes.

Does anyone know of a sure fire fix or is Veronica just unstable with Chankast?

For some people, it's unstable. For some others, not so unstable.

What are your compuer specs?

Pentium 4 2.5
1 gig of ddr ram
Soundblaster Audigy 2 I believe..
Geforce 5900
Xp SP 2.. latest nvidia drivers...
Latest Creative drivers

Here's what I tried...

I enabled the two different video options.. zwrite and the beta zwrite option.. tried them both seperately as well as together...

I tried the capcom hack.. I tried the resolution.. I tried setting audio acceleration to a lower setting through dxdiag.. and I tried both the blue as well as the red swirl bios.. ie: US and european...

I even tried a few different monitor refresh rates.. 75 and 60 to be exact..

The graphical glitches come and go.. very minor.. but when the sound goes it goes.. sometimes I noticed the music comes back somewhat but sound effects never do.. It wouldn't be bad if it was a fighting game.

The game just has issues which are totally not pebkac related.. It could be hardware.. maybe others aren't using creative soundcards.. It seems to be a clipping issue that just goes mute rather then causing the game to freeze.

I'm only upset because I never got a chance to play Veronica.. not the console type but I'm a huge RE fanatic.. soo I take what I can get haha..

The sound cuts off in mine 5 minutes into the game ( the part where Claire goes and finds the machine gun). Mine is the echelon version.

I tried Resident Evil 2 today on Chankast.. it just sends chankast into a not responding happy world. But Soul Calibur works perfectly.. well except a few minor graphic glitches on the character select screen which isnt a big deal. Chankast is pretty much the only dreamcast emulator that handles commercial games, isn't it?
