They should be the same region, otherwise the saves will most likely not be compatible. Other than that though, two different sources should be fine. If you do get them from different regions, then you might be able to convert your saves from the PAL (or NTSC) region into the NTSC (or PAL) using a program, or a HEX editor. Skies of Arcadia works that way, and it's reasonably easy, just slightly time consuming. Hope that helps. Mouser X out.
