Question about PSX emulation

My PS2 broke and while it's being repaired, I'm playing FF7 on my PC using espsx.

Question is I seem to have hit a standoff. I seem to be able to have CD audio or accurate sound effects depending on which plugin I use. I have not managed to get both. Does anyone know of a plugin that can do both?

I suspect you're confusing terms because FF7 doesn't use CD audio (CDDA). What exactly is the problem?

For what it's worth, I don't recall having any problems when I played through with the Eternal plugin.

It has CD Audio on the pre-rendered Cutscenes. Also, other games do at all times so I have to switch plugins constantly to make everything work.

I try the Eternal plugin if I can find it though, thanks.

EDIT: the eternal plugin doesnt seem to do CDDA either :(

make an ISO of your CD to get rid of timing issues,
if ur using then Eternal there should be no problems regarding that

It does CDDA as long as the audio tracks are properly commented in the CUE file that you mount in a virtual drive. Also, it does read CDDA tracks just fine from discs too.

Correct. You could also use Mooby's image plugin, but that still requires a proper cue sheet.

However, the point is moot because FF7 doesn't use CDDA.

Another outburst like that and I'll kick your ass out of here. If no one's helping you with your particular problem it may be because no one knows the answer. It happens. Get over it, or get out...

Problem is that these are ISO files so there is no cue sheet.
I also have Jojo's Bizzare Adventure which does use CDDA and if I don't use the Midas plugin, I don't CDDA audio, and no other plugin does, which is my problem because the Midas plugin doesn't do the sound effects right in FF7. (and if I use anything other than midas, the cutscenes in FF7 don't have sound.)

I'm not trying to be difficult, but I've tried everything suggested.

Well, if you only have an ISO files, and you have no CCDA tracks to accompany it, then you can't have background music.

Every plugin I know does CDDA.

Ok, I'm confused now. I'll use Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for this. (jojo.iso)

Using the Midas plugin
-CDDA checked = Background Music present
-CDDA unchecked = No Background Music

Using any other plugin
-CDDA checked = No Background Music
-CDDA unchecked = No Background Music

Why is this always happening?

I don't know anything about Playstation emulation, but ISO files in general are data files, they include the data track only, no cd audio. bin/cue images on the other hand support multiple tracks, cd audio included. So if what you got is a real iso file, and the original cd had cd audio tracks on them, you won't get this audio simply because it is not included in your data.

CUE sheet files support a multitude of formats, so you can get the CD audio even if the ISO file itself only holds the data. Of course, if you don't have the CUE sheet file, then you won't have the CD audio either, unless you manually add the audio tracks to the session before burning and proceed to make a Mixed Mode CD.

I'm not trying to be rude, but did you even both to read what I posted. If you did, you'd notice that there IS CD audio, and that the only plugin that actually works with it does not do the sound effects correctly so I was looking for a plugin (or configuration) that does them both. If one plugin IS giving me the CD audio and I'm using an ISO file, one must conclude that there is infact an audio track.
