Question about GCN usb adapter.

How good is the GCN usb adapter? I have a Thrustmaster game controller (Dual Power), but I love the GCN controller. Is this adapter worth its price tag and how does it hold it on the PC?

eh?

How does this question relate to PJ64? Answer: it doesn't. N64 controller+Adaptoid aside, controllers are controllers to PJ64 - they are just Windows devices, period. If the device and the driver are good, the device works well, otherwise not so good. PJ64 is just like any other piece of software on Windows in that regard. Might as well ask how well it works with Microsoft Word.

I'd take this question to one of the general forums, if I were you. Obviously you aren't having much luck here.

I use it for all the N64 Roms.
it's best to use the GCN R Button for the N64 Z Button though, as the GCN Z button is a little awkard to access, especially for games that use it alot like Goldeneye.

Works well with N-RAGE Plugin, u can use the analogue C-Stick to map the up/down/left/right to the N64 C Buttons.
However I have read some people had calibration problems with the adapter. And the biggest problem is that the included software doesn't have calibration.
it only lets you test the Gamecube button functions and it's rumble.
my R Button experiences a slight flucuation in pressure (as it is analogue) when pressed, which can be a problem for some N64 games (but I edited the NRAGE controller setting file to counter-act this).

But the GCN is one of the best controllers and being able to use it on the PC is great.
You can use it with PC games too of course, and for PC games that don't allow joystick button mapping, u can use a program called JoY-To-KeY that will let u emulate the keyboard and mouse with your controller :)

This Device DOES work for Windows XP, as that is what I use it in.
It also works for Windows 2000 and Windows 98. I have tested it on both of these OS's too.

Vortexx - Do you have any issues with 'calibration'? I have not got this item to work yet. Is there a different version driver? I purchased this item from Jandaman, and actually was told that it would not support XP. How did you go about installing the device? Any help would be appreciated!

e2zippo - If you need to Get the C analogue control assigned to buttons for N64 Games, you must use the latest version of N-Rage plugin. I assigned the C stick to C-Buttons fine for me.

teknoranger - What OS are you using? I have tested this on Windows 9x/2k/XP and it worked fine for all. I had an issue with loading the "test" software program with the controller driver in XP but that was it. it loaded in 2k and 98 so it might have been my version of XP.

I used the Disk supplied to install the drivers. Incase the drivers on the disk were corrupt, you can download the drivers from Lik-Sang under the description page for the Skillz USB Connection at their website, and the file is cube-connection.zip for download.

Uninstall the drivers, and re-install.

If You are trying to assign the C Analogue Control stick to PC Games, and the Game does not seem to accept it as a button, I recommend using a freeware program called JoY-to-KeY (latest version) which will allow you to map any key on your keyboard, or mouse even, to the Gamecube controller.

This program is probably the only alternative to getting full key/mouse access with the GC Controller, as Skillz did not seem to provide a key mapping software program with their drivers.

If you have any more questions, let me know.
