project 64 help (too slow)

i am new to all this emulator stuff and i cant seen to get it to run fast, it runs at abour 50 fps but when u atchually start to play the game it goes down to 20 fps and the game becomes realy slow ive updated my graphics card and direct x but it still does it
plz help

Which game? If it's something like Mario Golf then slowdown in-game is known etc.

ye on most of the games especially v8 and v8 second offence

most mario games razor scooter, destruction derby, and other racing games and mortal kombat if these ore knowen probs how do i fix them i have a pentium 4 processor win xp 250mb ram isnt that good enough

Mario games, should be fine (Mario Kart will be slow on the first level if you have framebuffer enabled).

Destruction Derby - known issue
Razor Scooter - works fine here (in 1964 at least, not sure if I checked it in PJ)
Mortal Kombat - Known issue, try using Rices Video plugin.

whell what can i do do fix these probs i have a mate and he has neer enough the same pc as me and he has had no probs at all

Why not ask him?

IE: What plugins does he use, what drivers, what os, what everything.

It seems that you have a too slow system, but you can try the following things:

- Reset all settings (there's a file for this in the uninstall folder)
- Use 1964, this emulator a lot faster than PJ64 and has the same compatibility.
