Problems with Rice 5.6.0. as well as Jabo's Direct3D 1.5.1. in Super Mario 64

I have a Radeon 9700 Pro with Cat. 4.11

I'm not able to play Super Mario 64 in 1964 properly with either of these two plugins (Direct64 doesn't allow fullscreen).

1) Default Rice's Video 5.6.0. :
-In Direct 3D: Image corruption, lines are shown around geometry (especially obvious on Mario in the beginning)
-In Open GL: Major Slowdown (unplayable), I tried switching between several different OpenGL paths (1.4 should work fine, but slows down as well)

2) Imported Jabo's D3D 1.5.1.
Works fine, except there are slowdowns in certain areas, has to do with some funky texturing effects it seems (mario in the beginning slows down, situations where there are the animated pictures to jump into a world, etc.). Doesn't affect PJ64.

I do wish to use 1964 however since Project 64 gives me horrible tearing even with Vsync on.

If anyone has solutions to any of these 3 problems I'd appreciate it.

I just can't seem to be able to find a version of Direct64 prior to the .5 ALPHA. Or are you talking about glN64?

EDIT: I tried glN64 and it works fine until the first world where I get huge slowdowns again.

I also get TEARING! ARGH! I have vsync on and yet the tearing is still very noticeable in PJ64 as well as 1964. I don't get it.

Nah I was talking about Direct64 - if they are not in the archive of downloads on this site, then I may be able to dig out the plugin later.

I think the proper version is the one I've attached to this post.

I'm just not able to find the older version of Direct64 you mentioned. I can only see version .5 Alpha. Can you help me out?

Snoops, you're going to feel stupid when I point this out... check my last post; I attached it to that ;) Hopefully that is the correct one.

I should also point out the filenames are identical, yet the build date is different in case that confused you.

I compared the one you provided with the latest on NGEmu.com, and both have the same size with slightly different dates (May 2nd on NGEmu and yours May 3rd).

The one from May 3rd doesn't work at all in Fullscreen.

The one from May 2nd works fullscreen in some games (like Super Mario 64), but in both Project 64 and 1964, you can see part of the bottom bar in fullscreen (like the fps counter that's flickering). Also, the performance in 1964 for some reason goes down a lot.

Is there any way to fix the bar flickering problem?

My dissident is here...
For me with a 9800pro and omega 4.12beta, I use jabo's with just triple buffer on or triple buffer with vsync, 85hz refresh, and 4xaa/8xaf and it is smooth as butter with most games, with no tearing. Try to lower the counter factor to 2 for mario64, it helped make it smoother for me.

Where are the things you're talking about located at (counter factor and tripple buffering)?

triple buffering is in the options in the Jabo´s D3D 6 1.5.1 plug-in

Counter factor,is iin emulation/counter factor

Gandalf beat me to it :p
If you wanna set the counter factor for each game, right click on it and go into rom properties, and you'll find it at the top right. Most games are smoothest (with a good machine) on counterfactor 1, but some, such as mario and waverace, work better at 2 or even 3.

I've found that setting the full screen resolution to the windowed resolution eliminates the flickering bars because it puts them at the bottom of the screen where they aught to be.

I have the same problem with my GeForce 4 Ti4200 video card and I thought it was probably because of my overclocking, but even at stock, still the same. Also, no video corruption at all in 3D Mark 2001 SE, even when overclocked.
