Hi my name is Jared Ghioto. I;m a newbie to emutalk, but it sounds like a great place to get information. I have Project 64 v 1.5 with the service pack update. I have a major problem with the graphics though. Before I tell you the problem, my system specs are: Intel Pentium 4 @ 1.8 ghz 128 mb ram
32 MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra Graphics Card and SoundMAX Digital Audio sound card. HERE IS THE PROBLEM: When I go to play ANY rom at all, the skyline is always distorted. It's kinda like when a window on your computer freezes up and when you try to move the window, a million of the windows follow but dont go away. BELOW IS A PIC OF AN EXAMPLE THE GAME IS PILOTWINGS 64. (This happens with ALL of my roms not just pilotwings!!)

Notice how the clouds and wing textures "remain" after animation and dont go away! Are there any particular settings that my plugins should be on??? Ive tried almost EVERY plugin and the only one that works well with me is Jabo's Direct 3d7 video. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER PILOTWINGS64 PROBLEM. The sound for the game is screwed up!! After the title screen this screeching sound comes on, like the sound you get on a "snowy" tv channel. Any certain sound plugins I should try? Thanks for your help!

your graphics card is the real problem
it´s old,and jabo´s plug-in doesn´t like that card.
Buy a newer card

That's rediculous!!! Im not made of money! Im not just gonna go out and buy another graphics card just to play a little PilotWings64 I have better things to do.
Also, in my mumbling, I FORGOT TO MENTION that not all of my roms did this. I only have 2 actually!!! Goldeneye and PilotWings64. When I first got Goldeneye, I had this sky problem, but then, I changed some setting, and it fixed itself. In the original n64 game, the sky of Goldeneye is blue. When I played, the blue sky and the upper rock wall in the Dam level blurred, like in the picture I posted. But then, I changed some setting and the sky became black and I had no blurring. I didnt mind the black sky, IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN BLURRING!! Im stupid for forgetting what I did. Does anyone know?! Thanks

You could give Glide64 + Evoodoo a try (not sure if Hacktaruxes wrapper works well on that card).

Personally I'd try several versions of Glide64 + the wrappers out. One should work ok.

Your gfx card really is the problem. I recommend using Rice's newest plugin with 1964, but I'm not too sure on how your gfx card would run on that plugin.

jeez man. you don't have to get mad.

here's a CHEAP solution because I'm pretty cheap too. Go to Wal-Mart and get yourself a $50-65 GeForce 2 MX400 PCI card. You can put it on lay-away like I did, and you will have MUCH better speed, and 97% of your problems with Graphics will be solved. I hope this helps.

I have tried using Rice's plugins, even the latest versions, nad my card mangles them and makes the graphics look like that stuff my Grandmother makes for our 4th of July Party! :) Ill give that wrapper thing a shot (I use Zophars Domain for all of my emulation needs). Like I said though, GoldenEye was working fine, but that setting didnt carry over to PilotWings64. Im not sure why. Also, Im trying out new emulators like 1964, using my plugins I had from pj 64. 1964 is working out GREAT and I dont have that screeching sound from before in PilotWings. Im gonna give Nemu64 a try too. Thanks for all of your help.
