ok heres the deal. im not a noob to emulators but i am a noob to n64 emulators (i think theyre too confusing for me ;) ) and im not sure what plugins to use, which to d/l, which will WORK, etc. i was hoping i could find someone with a similar setup to compare settings, etc.

WinXP
512MB PC 2100 DDR
ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO
SB Live 5.1

i dont think anything else really matters, but i know i have the "balls" to run it, its just a matter of configuration. ive had problems with 1964 freezing up and ive already set it to 98/ME in compatability mode (it was in a post about Radeon cards) so ive done some homework. the rom i was running was Resident Evil 2. and the starting screen seemed to be fine but when the text pops up asking to choose difficulty etc it would "smear" the graphics. ive only found one video plugin to work for me and it was a d3d one cant remember which one offhand. also, i tried many of the different audio plugins and none really seems to work correctly. when i did have sound it would play fine for a short amount of time and then go crazy. any suggestions???

Thx

same thing with the PJ64, same type of problems. and im not sure of settings, etc.

The currently best plugins you can use is:

Jabo's Direct3DX 1.4 (any 6 or 7, 7 is best).
Jabo's DirectSound 1.4
N-Rage's Input Plugin

Get N-Rage's at: http://go.to/n-rage
The rest comes with pj64, which can be gotten here: http://www.pj64.net

Oh, and, the current 1964 release does not support jabo's directsound. So get azimer's sound.
