Problem with OoT's item-menu

I've been playing with the Cel-Shaded mod and everything works fine except for the menu, which takes forever to load up and when it does, where Link should be is all graphic'd out. Anyone else have this? I've tried 2 different ROMs.

There is no delay using a validated rom and PJ64, and Link's picture is a framebuffer effect that can be enabled by changing both the framebuffer options to Write back and reload.
