Well, i have a Radeon 7500 so my video card sucks.

Anyway, i've been playing banjo kazooie on an emulator starting today.

I used Jabo3D8 and i get random freezing for a second or two

I used Jabo3D6 and i get mass freezing whenever i get a jiggy.

Is there a good plugin for video cards that don't support pixel shading and will help banjo kazooie run better ands not freeze?

D3D 6 is the one you wan't, why its freezing could be 1 of 3 reasons

poor ventilation in the case

the gpu i overheating

or the drivers need updating

the 7500 doesn't have temp diodes, so it won't show temps, but speed fan should show the cpu and system temps.

Try disabling "primary buffer textures" and "self-rendered textures" on the last tab (ROM Settings) of Jabo's plug-in while you're running Banjo-Kazooie. Also disable all the options in the "Frame buffer" panel on the "Advanced" tab of the plug-in, if they're enabled.

You'll have to miss out on some special effects, but the performance should be fine.

I was talking about Jabo's Direct3D 6, which didn't seem to have any random freezing according to your first post.

Do you get random freezing like that in any other applications?

The random freezing seems to happen with both plugins now. Although the jiggy super freeze has stopped

Try using the old 1.4 gfx plugin as this works a lot better for me than the newer plugin's.

You have to download the old 1.4 version of pj64 for the plugin.

You have to download version 1.4 and get the plug-ins from it. The PJ64 team don't allow the plug-ins to be distributed separate from Project64 itself.

i can't believe that no one have said this yet, but enable "sync game to audio" in the audio plugin.
Heh, you could be right. I wouldn't have thought he'd have the frame rate limiter turned off, though.

I have a Radeon 7500 in one of my computers and it works great with the older 1.4 gfx the synch to audio does not work for me, this does not mean it wont work for you.

You will find a few games will run a lot better with this old gfx plugin with your card.

You must download the pj64 v1.4 to get the plugins.

Hope you get it sorted.
