PJ64 and 1964

I get tons of slowdowns in 1964 with sync to audio enabled in azimar's audio plugin and no slowdowns at all on PJ64 with sync to audio enabled with Jabo's directsound plugin. I thought 1964 is faster? Or is it the audio plugin that's slow? Since Jabo's audio doesn't work with 1964, are there any alternative audio plugin for 1964 that doesn't slow down as much when I enable sync game to audio?

The sync audio option slows down emulation so that it's synced with the sound. It will slow it down regardless to your processor speed. You may even disable the frame limiter and it will still not go way up.

That's what it does, you know?

Yeah, but the thing is I get like 50fps on Diddy Kong Racing with 1964 and 59-60 with PJ64. Both have sync to audio enabled. Care to explain?

There is no better audio plugin other than Azimer's and Jabo's, if you ask me, use Azimers 4. beta 2 with 1964 and with PJ64 use Azimers LLE 5. beta 2 or Jabos direct sound

1964 is faster, and that is because it uses a dyamic recompiler, and PJ64 uses a recompiler, but uses a lot from its RSP plugin.

Nontheless PJ64 is more stable.

Jabo is the emulation god, we are still waiting for his return to the emulation world, when that will be, no one will know for sure.

Jabo is my bitch... i tell him to sort out my favourite game and he does it now, or else. I feed him every other day and only let him out when he's coded three new emus.

He's saying it makes a much bigger difference with one emulator over another, using the same ROM as an example.

Are you sure you're using the same azimar's plugin version? Newest isn't best, I think. There is alot of chatter about the audio plugin versions, unfortunately I don't know personally.

With PJ64 I get little slowdown with sync sound, even if the game doesn't run at full speed. Go figure.
