With certain games such as Goldeneye and perfect dark, 1964 is much faster. With others, Pj64 is faster.
They are both very compatible, and are both pretty damn fast most of the time.

i'd say compatability wise, they are pretty much the same, play quite a lot of games, speedwise 1964 is the winner

pj64 is more stable for ...infact it never (afai remember) crashed!
1964 also seems more stable than the previous versions. But it still does crash sometimes.....

Stability is still higher on PJ64, compatibility is around the same, 1964 is faster. That's it in a nutshell, according to my experience :)

I hate to sound harsh but it isn't 1964 VS PJ64 - It is not a competition - in fact the authors work together as much as possible both have pros and cons, both are great emus - this thread should be renamed!!!

i use em both... but the new pj is COMPLETELY AMAZING.

of course i just upgraded and have a bad ass machine, so maybe i'm biased.

i used to be a way bigger 1964 fan, before i got these specs:

still a 1964 fan, hehe. although pj64 can run Jet Force Gemeni properly without needing to hack the rom or use kiosk version, and thats one of the most graphically impressive games on the n64. other than that, i use 1964. although, pj64 certainly has its benefits. in fact to be honest, i use both as much as each other.

1964 can do it, too. Jet Force uses only one pif code, while Tooie uses hundreds. PIF codes are supported by PJ, 1964, Apollo beta for both Tooie and Jet Force.

oh ...nice avatar slougi..... can't get my eyes of the boobies movin'

[/spamon]lol i was just about to comment on slougis avatar, she seems quite joyful, that and she is quite err bouncy lol either that or some one is behind her :inlove: [/spamoff]

also 1964 does crash once in a while where as pj64 doesn't unless you really screwed it up... but speed wise 1964 plus it has netplay support from the looks of it

hmmm, but when i last tried the bloke, whoeva the character is still walked slowly and couldnt jump, whilst pj64 has this fixed.

/me goes to try again :)

There's a difference from it being a competition and pointing out the pluses and minuses of each emulator. 1964 is faster and should be tried if you're trying to get Goldeneye cooking on a p3 700mhz computer. PJ64 has much better sound with the amazing Jabo 1.5 audio plugin when you're running at full speed on a fast computer.

It doesn't work for me too. Another thing, do you need to put the pif2.dat in the 1964 folder for it to work or is it built into the emu already?

It is built in the emu already. Probably the JFG one is missed (It should not be missed), Schibo need to check it.
