Original N64 framerates vs emulation framerates

Before I purchased the actual cartridges of Mortal Kombat 4 and Mace, I used Project 64 to evaluate their framerates. Running on Project 64, both ran at very consistant framerates with very little slowdown or frame stutter. However, once I got the games through the mail and played them on my system, I found out that the framerates of both games were not as consistant as they were on Project 64. Mace The Dark Age, for example, has severe frame stutter on almost every stage, to point of being a slide show in some places, making it nearly unplayable. But on Project 64, it's super smooth 30fps in these areas. So I was wondering if there was a way to rig up Project 64 so that the original framerates could be displayed and not the enhanced Project 64 framerates. I tried messing with some of the graphics options, but nothing so far has worked.

Try using FRAPS or enable the option if using Glide64. Jabo's plugins by themselves have no way to display the true framerate (yet).

The discrepency you are seeing is probably due to the HLE being used in PJ64 - it's not always 100% spot on.
