Hey guys im new to this comunity but not new to the emulation world at all hehe :) now back to the main question of this topic lol

I mean when i had my dc , i bought alot of original games , but now my dc reseted often so i sold it :( (i miss my dc lol) and i was wondering if there is a way to play original dc cds on the emu (i doubt since the pc only reads 2 or 3 text files , probably cuz it isnt a normal cd but a gd) or is there a way to rip the game like echelon does or something??

Thanks , bugga12

if there are games already ripped (as you said) what are you talking about?
I hope you got confused and are not asking us how to rip a game, because it is piracy and can get you banned!
PLZ don´t come with the "I got the original disc so i got the right to rip it"
because you don´t!
I made a check on my originals and the box is clear when say it is made to run on dreamcast game system only.

tommy10, if your DC is resetting too much you should go to a electronics repair shop, if you got one available where you live

that simple ? i reckon they will tell me something along the lines of "nah sorry mate blah blah blah ...." worth a shot though i guess, i might do that. Its a shame not being able to play the great tokyo highway challenge

no no no WhiteX :p i didnt want to know how to rip a game i just wanted to say that since it only play rips or pirate copies i was asking if it will ever be able to play original cds , or someone make a program that recognizes and reads the GD-rom (tough i think its almost impossible) .

Thanks , bugga12

To rip original GD-Rom you need Dreamcast and broadband adapter with cabel to connect DC to PC, then rip game to PC hard drive.

actually didnt the author of chankast say if you want to play dreamcast games on it youll need to rip them yourself?

What i mean is using the coders cable or broadband adapter to rip the original GDRoms - isnt that allowed?

Segagamer dude, i believe it is not, but it is common sense that we find games in cd roms one way or the other, this thread is tapping in the thin line of emulation and piracy and it is very clear that ppl play innocent to find information on various aspects of the forbidden parts of emulation, use your head and the FAQ of this forum and try for yourself to determine what is legal and what is not, as for myself, count me out of this thread!

If your DC is resetting itself its likely its overheating, open it up and get rid of all the dust that is inside, it should be ok then.

@refraction - no point now since i sold it hehe , but thanks for the tip ... if the person i sold it to starts complaining about it reseting ill ask some money to cover the repair hehe thanks again
@WhiteX - yes mate all a misunderstanding i was asking if it would ever be possible to play original games on the emu , even tho i was almost sure it was impossible ( i mean 3 text files , cmon...! ) well and the lack of sleep even made me sayd worst things so nvm stuff i sayd about piracy and all , but now i would like some more info on this Coders Cable or the BB adapter ;) Thanks
and Finally @Strange - Thanks for the info m8 gladly apreciated :)

Had exactly the same problem myself mate, it's not overheating, it is in fact the laser wearing out, when I had the problem with my old DC, after cleaning the laser it took much longer to reset itself. I wouldn't bother getting it repaired, i'd just buy another DC like I did.
