OpenGL 2.0?

i was digging around on newegg for my new GFX card, and saw that teh GFFX5950 Ultra has OGL 1.5 or something support, but the R9800XT had OpenGL2 support, is this an important factor in deciding which one to get (i'm getting the 5950U no matter what anyways) and is there a large difference?

erm... i never heard of 1.5, only 1 1.1 1.2 1.3 and 1.4, but not 1.5. I believe all the GeForce FX cards have opengl 2.0 support

Wouldn't all nvidia cards support opengl 0.2, although maybe not all of its features?

No nVidia drivers currently support OpenGL 2.0/GLSLANG. The GeforceFX can support some features of it, however, the drivers currently do not(so the hardware won't either right now).

Radeon 9500 and up all support OpenGL 2.0/GLSLANG as of Catalyst 3.9/3.10(can't remember which).

They partially support 2.0 as of about 3.8 (IIRC), and full support since 3.10.

The other difference being that the Radeons don't lose 2/3 of their frame rate when running said shaders.
