These are both FULLSCREEN popups, and VERY frequent. Its annoying the shit out of me, and no i dont have spyware, i scanned myself with 2 different scanners and have been reported as clean. I also only get these with emutalk. I tolerated this in the past, but after awhile It starts to get to you. I'm hoping martin can get this resolved, if not, I'm leaving emutalk.

They are quite annoying but I find that once I have closed them they don’t comeback for quite a while! – just when I re-enter emutalk.

Happy xmas aprentice! :holiday:

You can't possibly get more than 2 popups every 6 hours (mostly just one). Check your cookie settings, make sure you accept cookies.

The ad code is network wide, so if you visit emutalk first and then some other site you won't see the popups. If you can't tolerate it there's nothing I can do, I can't take down the popups because they're paying for the server.

?????????????????????????
I know of that first annoying stupid popup. Although, i close them as soon as they popup, so i don't get that stupid "install" prompt...
But yes, they ARE annoying...

I used to get these pop ups constantly (well a few days back), since Martin implemented the changes I only notice them twice or so a day. Not really anything to bother me at all.

I do have my cookie settings set to accept cookies, and no other problems when surfing other places on the net before. However on emutalk these two (the please install this whatever it is, which fortunatly I've never been typing when it came up, and the full screen pop-under top-searches thing) come up one or the other almost every time I change the page. Which includes hitting back, hitting reply, clicking on a new thread, searching, any page change in emu talk pretty much. They don't come up every time just most of the time. I certainly don't mind pop-ups to support sites - and I'll give ya a click every time I think of it but my pop up killers get turned on every time I come here :( I think there is just a bug in the code somewhere.... Using IE 6 and moz 1.2 here. Its past anoying when they are comming up, it makes the board unreadable (I'm one of the ones that goes to the new posts listing and opens every one I want to read in a new window). If it were just 2 every 6 hours it'd be cool.

Delete your cookies and flush your cache, and I swear by my pink underwear that you won't see more than 2 popups every 6 hours. One popup is set to popup every 6 hours and one is set to popup once ever 24 hours.

Let me know if you want to look at the code if you have doubts. But as I said, delete your cookies and flush your cache, and also make sure your browser accepts cookies.

i'v been getting thoes popups too,
If you have IE6 SP1 look at the botom right part of thewindow ( status bar ) if you'll see a "no entry" ( i dont know haw is this sign called in english :p ) sign then doubleclick, IE6 block cookies from ads.* and ad.* automaticly, change it to "always accept cookies" either from this site or all sites and it should work, worked 4 me :]

Or use Mozilla / Pheonix

Not doubtin ya martin. I do clear my IE stuff often. Moz has the same problem for me. Screenshot below, surfed ET for 5 mins and just didn't close the pop-ups. Bug somewhere might be in my system, but happens on all my comps and the colleges.

happens to me too, hitting various pages (although its intermittant for some reason) it depends what mood its in.. if i use back and forward buttons it doesnt do anything, but if i go to a new page i always get a new one... except for in the last hour when it seems to have stopped
