I may have to wait a bit for this, I simply can't wait! I *adored* the N64 version and became a 'Mario Kart 64 Master'!!1 I can't wait, it's been a while since I got myself a Gamecube game, and I've beat all four of my games (Luigi's Mansion, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine and Zelda: the Wind Waker) so this game will be a nice new fresh game! :D

I must own this one!

According to reviews, this is worse then the n64 game. It will be tiring in the end unless you go multiplayer.
I don't think I'm getting this one until some people have played it and let us know what they think.

The problem with reviews is that just purely someones opinion, everyone having one. You never know if you'll like it or not until you have tried it for yourself. People who completely depend on reviews are missing out on alot, and besides, reviews were never reliable, if it wasn't bad, then it was a good review that a company paid out the reviewer.

I probably will look into mario kart in the near future, haven't even beaten wind waker yet :p

A good new feature that may help the single player game is that you can unlock new karts and characters as you progress through the game. But yeah, at the end of the day, Mario Kart has always been about multiplayer, and thats what we'll all be playing come 6 months time!

BTW, from what I've played today, the track design is superb. :D

Pfft, who plays Mario Kart single player anyway?
I'm having a Mario Kart weekend with my mates, I kick all their arses at the N64 one.

Btw, all the reviews I have seen, diss it for being too similar to the last one.
As I play Mario Kart 64 at least twice a week, more than 6 years after its release, is that really a bad thing?

I still think the multiplayer in that version was the key feature. Shit, I remember all we used to do in college was 4-player link up! :D

damn and i just bought f zero gx.. havent finished soul calibur 2 yet.. am roughly half way through max payne 2, finding time for fifa 2004

why must they shove all the goode games into the 3 months upto christmas?!

played double dash in a store somewhere and loved it, from what i can tell it seems to be a lot more like the snes version

Yeah, me too. I think it was kinda dumb of Nintendo to release F-Zero and Mario Kart a week apart. They'll probably lose a load of F-Zero sales because of it. Anyone else think the same? :unsure:

Yup im with you on that.. i mean ill get both eventually.. but why not release f zero in two or three weeks with some advertising? Mario sells himself.

Exactly. Saying that, I've got both and F-Zero is amazing in it's own right, but its probably fair to say that alot of people would of bypassed F-Zero GX and waited for Mario Kart.

Anyway, rant aside, my Uni assignment has been handed in, so it's time for a weekend devoted to Mario Kart! :D

Got it and pretty pleased, more of the same to MK64 but as previously stated not a bad thing. A step in the right direction for the series

For those of you who got the game, have you picked your favourite "team" yet? For me it's probably Peach and Koopa.

Just unlocked Special Cup, when oh when will Nintendo learn that NOBODY LIKES FRIGGIN' RAINBOW ROAD?
