Odd graphics problem

There are some graphics problems in some of my games. In Bomberman 64, for example, the intro screen is kinda glitchy, so I have to skip it to get to the game. The half-fading effect also doesn't appear. And in Mischief Makers, a graphics problem prevents an obstacle from being visible. I have the most recent download of PJ64.

Specs:
Windows XP
512 RAM
800 mHz
GeForce 4

I have the Jabo plugins.

Directly behind the charcter should be a boulder.

Is this a graphics thing that isn't supported?

The intro glitches are caused by a very hard to emulate framebuffer effect where the screen is split into quarters and fly off in four different directions. No plugin I know of fixes this yet. Bomberman 64 also has a lot of problems with the menus as well, most of these are not fixable yet either, although some plugins show more than others.

Ah, thanks. On the Mischief Makers note, there's also some text that doesn't appear.

There's supposed to be black text in the white box. What's up with that?

I'm afraid that there is no way to fix these problems on Jabo's video plugins. You should give Rice's video plugin a try since it works better for the specific game.

What DLL's should I remove to put in those?

You can find Rice's Video from 1964's forum. To use it, simply extract it to PJ64's plugin folder, making sure you put the msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll in PJ64's main folder. You should be able to select it from the Options > Settings dialog.

What version has those DLL's? 6.1.0 c doesn't have those. I also get a bunch of errors like "BMGLibPNG.dll was not found etc." when I try to select them.

You have to download the DLLs seperately. This is all in this thread. I also highly recommend Rice's Beta 10, found in the aforementioned thread. It's the best for loading high-resolution textures, however since it is a beta it may not be as stable as 6.1.0, and if you're not interested in High-res textures 6.1.0 may work better than Beta 10. Try 'em both, and see how it goes.

I think that the pics say it all. There are only two problems about this game (the rock and the missing letters) and they occur only in 2 specific levels. After messing up with the video plugin settings of both Jabo's plugins (including the framebuffer) none of the problems seem fixable. It seems to be a plugin related issue since it happens on both a GeForce 2 and a Radeon x600.

PJ64 starts to complain about how it can't find BMGlib.dll even though it's in there, and doesn't load Rice's plugin.

The dll pack goes in PJ64's main folder.

ie.

C:\PJ64\BMGlib.dll
C:\PJ64\plugins\RiceVideo.dll

It now gives me an "Cannot read ini file from disc" error. I can select and use it, but a lot of textures are missing.
