no$gba - can't save/load pokemon D game (help!)

Hi, I downloaded no$gba v2.6a and a Pokemon Diamond rom. I can play from the start, but when I save (from main menu in-game) I cannot find or load any saved game. I restart the emulator and at the main menu "press start" it starts a new game. Can somebody post a detailed step-by-step guide on how to save & load my game? Make sure that you have set the save type correctly and that you have write access to the BATTERY folder.

You don't need to manually set the save type with 2.6a.

Anyhow, since this thread is new, and donation has been broken for months im not helping you as you aquired the version illegally.
