Newbie needs some help

hi there...im completely new to n64-emultation and i want to know what i have to install...and how i have to install this...to play zelda 64#carina of time


my system is:

athlon xp 1700+
512 mb ddr 333 ram
geforce 2 pro 64mb ddr
gigabyte ga-7va board
soundblaster 128 pci
winxp professional

and please...dont only list what emulator and what plugin i have to use...give me a place to download that too.

and...if i have to install plugins....how?

K, first of all download PJ64 from this address: http://www.pj64.net - extract the file to the folder of your choice.

Now, go to the folder and look at the help file - this answers your questions perfectly.

You DO know that Glide64 only supports Voodoo cards and the Glide API? Or am I missing something...if not, then stop confusing him...

Oh, and if you meant using eVoodoo too you should at least have said so...i dunno why using a wrapper to run a plugin would be any faster than using D3D tho....:getlost:

For some people. me included Glide64 + Evoodoo does run a little faster than Jabos 1.4/1.5. However this person has a decent enough computer to not really have to worry between Jabos & Glide too much. Either will do just as good.

first of all...thanks for the immediate help- i will try p64 and read the help...hope i get through all of that...

and...before reading...do i need extra plugins to p64 or are there some included?

There are some other plugins, but for immediate use you have all you need included in the Pj64 package The help file is really well put together so you shouldn't have too many problems.

You know that except for perhaps Zelda Oot and MM, Glide64 runs great! No Mercy is fully playable on Glide64 as well, better than Jabo's. My standard plugin of choice is Glide64.

Yes, Glide64 runs only on Voodoos, but with eVoodoo you can run it on other specs as well. You should be able to find that info at their homepage, as there even is a link to eVoodoo there (afaik?).

So I told him to try it out and see what he likes it.
