Need Save Help

Im using Project64 1.6 im pretty new at this and ive been trying to save my status in Zelda Majora's Mask But for some reason I keep being returned to the first day no matter how far I reach in the game if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated Thanks for the Support.

That's pretty much how the game works on the real system.

So basically i will end up at the beggining again even if i save the game in Majoras Mask is it supposed to take away all the items that i have aquired over that portion of the game and will this occur with every ROM I use? Thx for previous reply

Certain items are taken away, for example, stray fairies, ammo for weapons, bottle contents, rupees, and dungeons/subquests are reset, and you return to Day 1. You do get to keep the main quest items, ocarina songs etc.

instead, save with the owl statures or save states (F5-save, F7-Load)
