Valve...you have to be kidding me! posted by DJShamrock - 4:43 AM
Well, well, well. Valve has done it again. They promised us a fix to the stuttering problem two days ago, then moved it to yesterday, now they have finally released a patch. Great right?

Wrong! The patch does nothing to fix the stuttering problem. In fact, it has cut many users framerates in half! If you think I'm kidding, just mosey on over to the Steam user forums and have a hearty laugh.

But wait there's more!
That's right kids! They even have the cojones to suggest that we take the following steps to fix this problem on our own...prepare to be enlightened...
1. Download the latest drivers for your video card.
Durf! Why didn't I think of that?
2. Turn down (or off) anti-aliasing completely. Many cards should be defaulting to no AA.
God forbid! Anti-aliasing in Half-Life 2? That's just asking too much.
3. Drop your video resolution down one step.
How about I drop it down to 600x800? Better yet, why not just play Pong?
4. Drop texture level down one setting. This will slightly degrade the visual quality of the textures in the game.
How about you go play tennis with hand grenades?

OK, that was funny I know. But here's the kicker...none of those suggestions do a damn thing to fix this problem. I think they must be using blind monkeys to playtest this game or something.
Valve, you should be embarrassed to make such a great game, only to ruin it by slacking, delaying, and basically defrauding the millions of fans who have stood behind you through all of the crap that you have put us through. Just take our cash and leave us hanging. Shame on you. Oh yeah, I bought a 9800xt to play this game. Remember how awesome HL2 was supposed to run on it? #$%^&*
