Megaman 64 graphical issues

Whenever the last boss uses his "Sol" attack (the big fireball thing) black circles start appearing around the fireball and soon the game pauses, and a screen titled "Access violation" appears with the text "While processing graphics data an excepton occurred, you may have to restart the emulator"

After pressing ok, the game comes back to normal without the need to restart it, but it's still an annoyance when trying to dodge the last boss' moves.

I noted this sometimes happens when a pink pyramidal shaped polygon (like a comet's tail) appears behind the fireball (can't see it in this screenshot)

Also, the save states seem to be messed when this happens, the game doesn't rewrite the state if I try to save right after the bug.

I'm using pj64 v1.6, with the Mega Man 64 (U) [!].z64 rom and with the newest Rom DB. Trying to turn off the legacy pixe pipeline didn't help.

Maybe this is related to another issue, where after entering the boat for the pirates battle right after having loaded a save state, the sky will go completely dark for the whole battle (It's like if the sky's texture isn't loaded)?

Also, why aren't the know issues like the black screen freeze that may happen in some transition scenes and the vertical and horizontal lines that appear in this game in the intro and on the ground listed in the Rom DB FAQs? They're known for quite some time o_O

because they aren't Known problems unless your using custom or older RDB settings, with which the Latest RDB actually fixes.

the Access violation error is a known one and Jabo will fix it in 1.7 by allowing Access violations to be ignored.

haven't seen a black screen yet, no cheats, all the way to the end.

Black lines are caused by the textures and an rdb won't fix that.
