megadrive controller fits into serial port, just wondering if....

if theres anyway to get it to work as a pc gamepad or something;. it fits perfectly into the serial port, and it'll be phat if u could use it with megadrive emus...:blush: ... i guess

You'd just fry ur serial port. There are adapters to use it on the parallel port though, they relatively easy to build afaik, just search on google. ;)

I figure www.arcadecontrols.com should be the place to look, also with the newly released NTPAD which supports a couple of console adaptors under XP, such as N64, I better start making a couple for myself...

i have a serial2parrallel adapter...

I am quite sure u'd only fry ur parallel port with that =P
Seriously those adapters are not hard to build. give it a shot :)

ah screw it, i aint rewiring my megadrive controller, it could be a priceless antique oneday. just curious...

I seriously doubt it, but anyways the DirectProPad interface doesn't require you to rewire your controller. All modifications take place on an extension cord. You buy an extension cord, cut it off in one end and solder the cut off end to your small board and if all goes well you plug one end into your computers LPT port and the other into the controller.
