MDF and MDS playable?

i tried to mount the image MDS onto the daemon tools (also tried alcohol 120) but the game wont boot. has anyone tried to mount a MDS image and get it to work? or does the emulator just dont work with MDS and MDF?

I have one game in the .mds format, and it works fine with daemon tools v.3.29
