Mario Tennis Slowdown

I have a problem when playing Mario Tennis on Project 64. I have seen posts that fix's black squares and other issues and that helped me with graphical problems. When I get into game play on the court, the game seems to slow down to 50% - 58.9% speed (31 VI/s - 34 VI/s). I can't get it to speed up any faster, can someone help me on this?

Please give us your CPU/GPU model.
You should try using Project64 1.6.1 + Jabo video plugin (default settings + force alpha blending).

If you have a very good CPU, you may try dolphin (yes dolphin!) as it emulates Mario Tennis 64 perfectly.
