yeah there is an insane draw distance though, I get the feeling that this is an off shoot of the sequel that was meant for the 64DD

This is only the one area we`ve seen though. Besides either way, I`ll take draw distance any day over sitting going, "Ooh, I say, that metal grating texture is at such a high resolution! A-and Oh my GOD! LOOK AT THE TEXTURE ON THAT BARREL! SH1T! Ohhh baby I think I`m going to..."
Well, you get the idea. ;)

i disagree a well textured game can look remarkabley impressive, you only have to look at pc games to see that (vs say the origional playstation) and for a flagship game with this importance you'd think a little more time would be spent on making the game look scherweet, btu i still think its gonna be the most playable since 1001111010010 was born ;)

If you sit down to play a game, you should by rights be so wrapped up that the resolution etc. of textures is totally meaningless. Rogue Leader is a good example, as it has all the technical whizz-bang with extremely detailed textures, but I don`t sit there going "ooh, that x-wing has RUST on it! Pretty detail...". I sit there going "My god, this game is shockingly and almost unplayably bad. If only they`d put a bit of effort into the gameplay rather than trying to impress tech-whores."
And then we have Luigi`s Mansion, Super Monkey Ball and even from the looks of the latest shots and video`s, Zelda X. All games with pretty basic textures when it comes down to it, but all fantastically playable in comparison. And that `shiny liquid` texture in Mario Sunshine looks great.
