Since you have a good computer, it shouldn't really matter. Anyway, I'd recommend Jabo's latest video plugin and N-Rage's latest input plugin. If you want surround-sound with good speed, use Schibo's audio plugin and Hacktarux' RSP plugin with Azimer's .40 audio plugin used to process the ALists. If you want surround-sound with less speed and more crackly sound, use any RSP plugin and Zilmar's audio plugin.

I found my problem. I just had a setting wrong in Jabo's :)
I had normal blending turned on, which made fog gone and some items semi-transparent. :)

Direct64 will look really good with a 5700. It is not quite 100% flawless with all the effects though.

well of what shows it looks good, however, it's not showing a lot of stuff, on MM, it doesn't even show the opening screen

(when it displays the N64 logo, it shows that but the word Nintendo doesn't show)

Direct64 only really works well using 1964 0.9.9. At least it does for me and I have a GeForce FX 5600. You could use Rice's Video or Glide64+Hacktarux's wrapper as well.

Well Rice's has really bad results.
DirectX: doesn't even start
OpenGL: either REALLY horrible, or really off color

I havn't tried Glide64's yet.

I've also had problems with rices VidPlugin. I have Dx9b (or c or d???, the latest, anyway) and it says it can't find Dx8/8.1, can't allocate video memory, etc, then kills the emu totally.

At the moment i'm using Jabo's dx7 plug, or Direct64 (which is very good, but major major texture corruption on some games - banjo kazooie for eg, there's no banjo right at the start and when yoiu select a save game, etc).

I'd have to say, for compatability, Jabo's dx7 is the best for me.
