Mac version way too slow?

I'm running the current Mac version of Mupen64. I have a PowerBook with these specs:

1.5GHz G4
512MB RAM
64MB mobile FX5200
lots of other irrelevant stuff

I have one ROM, Super Smash Brothers, and it runs crazy slow. The video is smooth, but the game action is slown down. The sound skips enough to be inaudible (I turned it off). I've tried all the resolutions, different texture cache sizes, no fog or filtering...nothing really speeds it up. The website says the emulator is quite slow...yet a 1.5Ghz G4 isn't even enough? At that rate, are there hopes for improvements in the future?

Or is there something I could change now? (Besides run the Linux version on my desktop, which I could do, but meh. :p)

PS: The dynamic recompiler doesn't work at all. Lauching a ROM with it turned on crashes the program.

It's normal that some games are slow when using an interpreter core even with a fast machine. Unfortunately, no dynamic recompiler has been written for PowerPC processors yet.

i have an ibook 1.33ghz

512mb
some video card that's 32mb lol

i'm able to play but rather slow (zelda64) I usually prefer sixtyforce because it's faster but couldn't handle part right after intro for some reason.

and also, what's the keys for the 4C's, Z, and R button O_O. i can only find A,B, and L i think. and the up,down, left, right

keep up the good work! It works but it's rather slow and high on resources!
