PCI bus died, had to replace the motherboard. Dell was supposed to mail the motherboard to a technician who was supposed to do an on site repair, but they screwed up. I didn't mind doing it myself, after all they don't void the warranty. Not only that but they included a software disk that is used to modify the service tag to whatever you specify, you aren't normaly supposed to be able to do this yourself, because then you can get away with warranty fraud. Only the technician was supposed to get the software, and not disclose it to me as described in the paper that came with it. Perhapse the hacking community can benefit from this leaked software?
Whoa, stop right there. The hacking community maybe, but not this forum. DO NOT post it here or a link to it here. (Not that you would, I'm just ensuring that you know not to.)
