Laptop Battery

I have a laptop battery that runs out very quickly after taking out AC plug. On most laptops the lcd screen darkens, causing the laptop to use less cpu power. This works on my sister's laptop, but not mine. Is there an option that could make the LCD screen darken or mabe even a program? Thanks-minkster

Yes this is an option in Windows, I can't find it because it doesn't appear unless you are on a laptop. You can also adjust your power management for going to battery mode. However, if your battery runs out very quickly, dark screen or not, then you need to consider buying a new battery. Lithium Ion (and Nickel Cadmium) batteries are rechargeable but that doesn't mean they last forever.

Oh. you have to buy your battery from the company that made the laptop.

Yeah, your right....I don't want to buy another, but I may look into it. When I first got the laptop I had these problems. Like after five minutes my battery would drop like 15%. I don't think that is normal at all I will see what happens when I find where to enable that battery option. Thanks-minkster

Yeah the smallest batteries they make last at least an hour.
