Just wondering what kinda hardware every one has, and wondering about a testing rom..

Soo pretty much what the title says... I'm looking into playing with some GC emulation within the next 2 days or so and was wondering what every one out there is running. I was also curious if any one had a rom that would emulate the kind of 3d models that games contain, to maybe help test computers or just check fps and things like that. So we can have some sort of baseline to compare computers from.

Any way .. here are my specs

Whats holding it back, just the software isnt completly emulating yet? Has any one actually tested it with a very strong PC? Something maybe with a dual core, or sli?

Yes,it is just a beta version.

U still cant run it full speed,even on the fastest PC u can find.

Yep, it's mainly the emulator is what holds the framerate back, not the PC. 3D stuff runs very slow for me and my system is well above average.

For example, during the Luigi's Mansion intro sequence which is in full 3D, I get about 9.2 fps when Luigi is walking toward the mansion at the beginning, and it drops to 4.7 fps when Luigi takes his map out.

Yes I do know its in beta .. most emus stay in beta for years.. i was just curious if any one had luck with running it some what smoothly or not. People come here prolly with 5700's and 1.8 ghz computers wondering if they can run it when they most likely cant. So i was tring to get an understanding of what it takes to actually do so.

Also I was wondering if it would be possible to create a rom that would stress a machine similar to how a game would, for testing purposes. Maybe using existing models and just running them through sequences with different lighting and things of that nature. In hopes to creat a baseline for systems so people know and understand what they need to run something like this remotely decent. NOT good, just kinda decent.

Na man its not like that. Im still working on my rig to make it something great.. and trust me I got lucky on the parts lol. Iv been into emulation for years, last emu i played that was pretty good was bleem, and i think PSXE or something? I pretty much only played grand turismo and that was it. I was l fooling around online and came across this and figured it would be a great way to test my rig out if it was hard dependant.

Also, I have a little cousin who loves pokemon and such so I wanted to surpise him with it next week.

this gen emulators are still working on compatibility then we´ll see about speed and in the next posts try not to degrade the 1800+ and the 5600 that ppl sometimes had to work hard to buy.

I am NOT degrading any one .. at all .. trust me .. I work DAMN hard for everything I have soo DONT say I am degrading any one. I was hoping for general specs on what people have so I dont get into this and not get any where in the end. I also wanted to look into (maybe even doing it my self) something that would make models similar to what the GC would do, so people can test their hard ware without hvaing to download roms and get illegal copies of games and ask people how to rip games etc etc. THATS where all this was going. If you read my orignal post it says so in there, towards the end. SO DONT ever say i am degrading any one. YOU HAVE NO idea of my intentions, so dont assume. You know what they say about people who assume... keep that in mind before you want to say what I'm doing.

For any one who is inretsted. Would they like to be involved in possibly producing a rom which would run models similar to that of a GC for testing purposes ?

No flames intended bro Im 20, class starts tomorrow, I own a web design company .. 3D modeling and things of that nature are just a hobbie. Which led me here.
