Well, he isn't racing for this weekends Japanese Grand Prix, he isn't racing again for BAR. He won't be racing next season.
He's been replaced by Takuma Sato, who was less than impressive in his season with Jordan.
What do you think Jaz, do you think he'll be back? Button reigns supreme.
Apparently, only Michael Schumacher was earning more than Villeneuve out of all the drivers.
Proves Jaques is greedy, and there was no way he could justify earning so much.
Maybe he'll go back to Indy.

It's a shame to see him go this way, they could atleast had let him finish the season. Eventhough, as you say he weren't performing for various reasons, being in a non competable team being one... Hopefully he'll go back to Indy and finish off there if he still has the eye of the tiger. But at the same tame it's good that old talent gets replaced by new, I'm dieing to see swedish talent Björn Wirdheam have a go at F1.

I read from a newspaper that it was his own decision not to drive the last race after he found out he wasn't gonna drive at BAR next season. And I don't blame him, I think it's shitty that they are announcing this while season isn't finished yet.

But its sad to see him go, hopefully he will find a team for next season. Maybe Toyota could use him / afford him?

Kimi "the ice bunny" Räikkönen will win tomorrow and Shoemaker won't make it to points...
And the championship will come to Finland (or Monaco, not sure) once again!

Toyota have already announced that Panis and Da Matta will be their drivers for next season.
Minardi, Jordan and Jaguar are the only ones really that have a seat available. It'd be nice to see him at Jaguar, but it'd be at the expense of Justin Wilson, and apparently either Alex Wurtz or Jos the Boss will be taking the Jag seat.

Never knew or understood what they see in some drivers, esp the ones who race for the lesser teams. Björn Wirdheim is the way to go, hopefully he'll get a test driver position this year and next and with a good percentage of chance a drivers seat for next year, possible in BAR... That would be kick ass..

well the chance of that happening is about 1:10 .. after the qualifying it doesnt look too peachy for both of them.

Montoya and Scumacher both has pretty good chances, Kimi's are more or less non existans as they require that neither Schumi nor Montoya takes any point. Atleast that is how I udnerstood it...

I'm pretty sure M will win tomorrow, perhaps not the race but the championship....

The only drive he'd take for next season would be a Jag seat, but I can't see that happening. My predictions are either a gap year, or a year back in the USA (his manager owns a CART team, remember), and then back to F1 in 2005 with Williams (Montoya will be off to McLaren in 05).

Yeah, it was his choice not to race, not BAR's.

BAR have agreed to Jacques' request to pull out of this weekend's Japanese GP

Jacques was told at the end of last week that his contract with BAR wouldn't be renewed. On Tuesday morning, BAR were informed that Jacques didn't want to race this weekend at Suzuka.

Craig Pollock, Jacques' manager, explained: “Jacques is extremely disappointed not to be staying with the team next year, and he simply felt that his heart would not be in it for the coming weekend. As a result he asked that he be allowed to stand down. We are grateful to David Richards, and the team, for releasing him early from his contract.”
