in the new version of 1964, the v.099, there are two new plugins, the Rice Video plugin 5.2.0 and a controller plugin, the NRage DInput. v2 (i think..)
I try to use them with the pj64 and i get the message "Failed to load plugin.." and the name of the plugin.

What is wrong with those?
Are they in-compatible?
Are they locked to work only with the 1964 emulator?
Can i use them?

Thanks, From Greece

Yes! You can use them...If you use 1964. You might as well use 1964 because there are some more supported games now that were fixed in the core that PJ64 doesn't support.

Any reason you don't want or can't use 1964?

You need to copy MSCVP71.dll (and perhaps) MSVCR71.dll to the PJ64/ folder. Rices plugin should now work.

Why I need to do this?
The plugins follows or not the same -open source- specifications??

There is nothing to do with open source specification. You need the DLLs because the plugin was built by using Visual Studio .Net. These DLLs are shared common libraries called by most EXEs built by VS.Net.

OK, this is right, but...but I have the same question as before :

The REAL elulator is the Main program (pj64,1964 etc) OR the plugins????
Are the main programs only something like frondends for the plugins?

I think, the pj64 (or 1964) just not working without the jabo plugin the first or the rice daedalus the second.

Am I right?

So, when the progress increase, when a new version of pj64 is realised OR when a new version of the plugins ???

The main emulator does most of the work of the N64's hardware, but the zilmar spec allowed different plugins to be used for certain bits like Graphics, Audio, Controller and RSP so that they could be interchangable. The emu is not just a frontend for the plugins as the plugins don't do all the work. You can use any plugin(s) you want.

I think that's what you meant.
