Is Cruisin' USA supposed to be choppy?

Hello all...new here to the forum and to N64 emulation...found P64 and think its awesome...i never thought the graphics were so good for N64 and was really impressed when i played RR64 today...once in a while the game will freeze up for like a second.

Anywho...when i play Cruisin' and when the cars come out of the garage it gets very choppy and once the race starts...major choppiness. Is this right?

I'm assuming my PC is fast enough to run this. Any ideas?

It is a known issue.
The core runs it that way and there ain't nothin you can do to fix it.
i suggest using 1964 for this game.
