Incessant crashing in FZero X

Before now, I only had very rare crashes in FZero X, no big deal. However, I've made it to the track 'Big Blue 2' and it never fails to crash about 20 seconds in the level.

This first time I went through here, it caused every single other game I played to crash about 5 seconds after starting it up. For some reason, it's stopped doing that, but it still crashes on FZero.

After a few more crashes on Big Blue 2, it starts giving me video errors as I play on it, telling me to restart the emulator. It gives me about 4 of those and then it finally crashes the whole emulator.

Sorry if that sounds confusing. I'm using all the default plugins. Is there anything I can do to stop it from crashing here?

This is a known problem for pj64. fzero is known to crash every now and then on some computers (although my computer never did) anyway, you might want to try 1964 in the meantime, maybe that'll work better

Well, I started using the Rice Video Plugin and it's running just fine, but I've found an error even worse, and I've replicated it twice.

If you beat Jack, Queen, and King GPs and try to play anything afterwards, it crashes and gives this error:


Unhandled R4300i OpCode at: 80124000
Unknown 7C 7C 07 1A

Stoping Emulation !


I've completely erased my save files and whatnot and went through the game and it happened again, and only after I beat the J, Q, and K GPs.

Any thoughts on this one?

Play with the (E) version, you won't see any crash

That's the one I'm using.

It's strange... I used the F-ZeroX.sra file from this site and now everything works properly. If everything is unlocked there is no problem, but if it's at that specific spot, it doesn't want to do anything.

disable register caching and sp hack, although speed will decrease if you don't have a good processor.
