Cold As Ice Foreigner.
Alright, I believe I've followed the process for setting up the emulator, completely, start-to-finish, etcetera. I've also compared how I did it with the help files, FAQs, tutorials, and a post or two to see if I got everything right. I seem to have. Seeing as how I came that far, I tested out the emulator. All BIOSes function fine and correctly, or at least, they seemed to...
And so, I tried playing an image of an Audio CD, lo and behold, says the track has 2:32, but then upon attempting to play it, the track is dead still at 0:00 (Or was it that it ends up still displaying 2:32 at the end point, instead? Gah.), and refuses to play. Funny how Magic Engine 0.99beta5 can play it, but this can't, or at least, I can't seem to get it to...
Okay, so I'm beat there, time to break out the games... oh, wait, that's a cool-looking and familiar DC intro screen! Red swirl, D-R-E-A-M-C-A-S-T shows up, and all, then disappears, and then...!!!
....... (pause added for dramaticism)
...no game. Just an ol' An-Error-Has-Occured-Would-You-Like-To-Report-It-To-Micro$oft window, with the screen behind it remaining grey-ish (or whatever name you'd like for that color so there's no debate over it), and nothing moves.
So, what does that leave me with? Fully-Set-Up Emulator (I think...), Two problems popped up, and then I'm feeling like a bad night at the local pub/bar. Like a tosser.
So, using a Pentium 4, 2.53 GhZ, 512 MB RAM, 64MB Intel Extreme Graphics, Avance AC97 Audio, DirectX 9b, Windows XP Home Edition SP2, along with having tried Daemon Tools, along with Alcohol 120% to mount the Audio CD and various Dreamcast games, and attempted using each BIOS (yes, I deleted the BIOS and FLASH files and unzipped the others each time) and FLASH...
...what could the problem be, and what can I do to fix it? I'll supply/furnish any more technical details upon request.
Anyways, that said and out of the way, it seems to be an excellent emulator, well done and everything, with various reputable staff members */me tips hat off*, along with visible time spent in coding (bonus points of sympathy if you folks actually "slaved" away at the keyboard 24/7), and your prerequisite "good-looks" all 'round. A great emulator for a great console, so I'm looking forward to the releases ahead, bugfixes, new features, etc.
Oh, yeah, and I must ask the usual question... myself, I usually tend to play things like Dating Simulators/"Ren'ai" or Bishoujo Games, SHMUPS (read: Shoot 'Em Ups for those not in "the know, ya know, fly a ship, blow carp -yeah, Darius is coolies, er...- up, you know the deal), and when not playing those, I go after Puzzle games, Platformers, Kart-esque racers, a few RPGs here and there (provided they try to be innovative and not MOTS, oh wait, that also goes for every genre), Strategy Games, and a couple ones outside those genres... so... all that having been said, what are your picks for those genres, on this system?
As for myself, in terms of Ren'ai stuff, I play the Sakura Taisen series, along with the Pia Carrot games, Kanon, Love Hina... and a buncha others... yeah. In terms of SHMUPS, you've got fan-favorite Ikaruga, along with Border Down, Shikigami no Shiro, Psyvariar 2, and a group of others. In terms of Puzzlers, the Puzzle Bobble series and Hanagumi Taisen Columns 2 does it for me, but I'm open to suggestions. And that's what I can bring to mind right now, so... meh.
Anyways, good luck, hope for good progress, and all that good stuff. Until Next Time...
