i ahve a toshiba corporation 10.05 gb hd in my laptop but

it says it's only 1.99gb when i fdisked it and format it and installed win982ed onto it!

the laptop is a compaq armadra 1750.

any one know how i can get my laptop to see the 10.05gb drive???

the hd is a toshiba corporation

8455mb cycl 16383 h16 s63

and 10.05 gb lba 19,640,880 sectors

can i do this in dos ???

Lol. You're currently using the fat16 file system, only capable of supporting up to ~2gb. Format your drive to fat32 for full drives support.

Yah thats what it sounds like. When using the Windows 98 fdisk it should ask if you want to enable large disk support, say yes. Dont use a DOS version earlier than Windows 98. The windows 98 CD is bootable, you should be able to boot to a prompt from there and use the fdisk supplied on the CD. Remove all the partitions and create a new one.

i tried that! but the hd still says the same thing after a clean install of win982ed.
