how to assign keyboard commands to joy pad

hi to everyone i am new to pj64 but a very nice program very good i have only one question how do you assign keyboard commands to a joy pad my joy pad is a side winder pro from ms
it seems i can assign a couple of keys but not all of them and once you have assigned them do you have to assign them every time you use the pj 64 thanks for reading this thread and taking time to reply

I also have that pad. All you have to do is press the save profile button and you won't have to config it everytime. You can use the same button setup as me if you are having problems with the limited number of buttons.
