how do you save games?

i checked the faq and tried to save the game,
but it always says there r no free blocks.
i want to import a savegame, i downloaded the savegame, but the VMS browser said the savegame is imcompaitable, but i'm pretty sure the savegame should go well.

So the VMS browser says that there aren't any free blocks availaible. Did you format your VMS first? Run Chankast without cd inserted. In the Dreamcast configuration go to 'File' option. Select a Memory card and continue. In the following screen you can choose 'all' and select. This will give you options to 'delete all, memory reset'. It's here somewhere. Don't know exactly what to do since I haven't formatted a memory card in a while now.

As for the savegame what kind of savegame is it? Bin, dci or something else.

I’m also having problems with the game saves, but I get a different message whenever I try to load/drag VMI files into the browser: it says "VMI files should be in pair with VMS files; can't load". Dreamcast cheat sites only have VMI files, but how do I get the VMS files. I’m confused. Please help me
