all the other plugins display an annoying gray box floating around.

on the "Nintendo 64 Emulation Configuration List Online", By: Bighead
it says: Direct 3D8 1.6: - (Minor) Sky errors in Jabo's Plugin.

Rice's Video 6.1.1: - (Minor) Video errors when receiving controller pak warning message with Rice's.

but Rice's plugin has the gray box thing.

This is a known issue in Rice's Video Plugin, all versions. I have failed to configure a fix for either version. The debug version of Rice's video plugin also strangely enough returns some form of infinitely-looping microcode detection errors.

Only Jabo's Direct3D 6 1.5.2 will fix the issue; no third party plugins outside of Project64 will, except obviously I can't use Glide64 and I'm assuming Lemmy's Direct3D would only decrapitate all the graphics. In Project64 "Options/Settings..." dialoge, make sure you are using version 1.5.2 and not 1.6 of Jabo's Direct3D plugin.

As for the sky, because of some sort of setting somewhere in my system, I haven't been able to test settings to fix the sky issue, so I want to tell you how to try fixing the issue yourself.

In gfx configuration of this plugin version, if necessary, uncheck "Hide Advanced Settings", close configuration, and reopen it to see an Advanced tab. Under the Advanced and ROM Settings tab, try all of these settings and see what effects they have on the game. Let me know if any of them fix the sky issue; if you find one that does, you've just found a fix to be added to the online Project64 .RDB file.
