Help with certain ROMS

For certain ROMS such as tetrisphere and pokemon stadium the analog sticks do not work. They work for most of the other games, so im not sure whether its the controller settings or just the ROMS. Anyone have any ideas? lain:

These games both use the D-Pad and not the analog primarily. Set your controller config accordingly.
