Im running a new macbook with bootcamp for my emulation.

basically im running windows with a 950.

My buddy who has a pro and I both loaded this and sm64 onto our computers, his is perfect while mine skips. Is there any plugins I could download to help me out?

Thanks so much

Usually when people don't know how to help, they won't answer. It's not exactly unheard of.

You don't have to be a dick about it. I was just curious as to why 22 people looked at it but no one answered. I figured there was an easy plugin I could DL and help with the graphics issue. Maybe it's not that easy.

If anyone knows of a solution it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re-Reading my message I thought it was very easy to understand my question, idk maybe the questionmark gave that away.

I was just curious if there was any plugins I could download to help my weak graphics card. All I care about running is sm64, so I would love it if someone could help me with the best configuration to run it.

XD you own a Macintosh and want to play games. I doubt a plugin will save you. Try simpler games like Minesweeper / Solitaire

And you won't get much help around here with an attitute like that. I found that third post hilarious hahaha

Macintosh with its own OSX emulating Windows OS emulating N64 games. hmm, pile-up central. I'm no expert but to be honest I wouldn't be too suprised if it didn't work too well.

I'd say that calling someone a dick after asking for help is considered attitute, but that might just be me.

What are the specs of your Mac, against his?

It's not emulating windows, it's running it.

processor and memory

* Intel 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo processor
* 2MB on-chip shared L2 cache
* 667MHz frontside bus
* 1 gig of ram

Graphics and Video Support

* Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory1

Ok sorry, *running rather than emulating. Either way, the rest of my post remains how I intended it, and it's still not gonna be brilliant.

I just remembered that Mac specs are all awkward and are measured differently to PCs, so I've no idea what that is equal to. sorry.

You would be pretty cool to have SM64 on a Macintosh though lol, all my Mac friends are just obsessed with Final Cut and crap.

If I'm interpreting your original post correctly, your friend has a Macbook Pro, which implies it has a Mobility Radeon X1600. You on the other hand have integrated Intel GMA 950. There's your problem right there. You may get better results using Jabo's D3D6 1.5.2 instead.

Thanks for the suggestion, I willl try it at right now.

And I understand his video card is much more advanced, all im hoping for is to get some try and setup to run sm64 smoothly.

I recently had a similar issue when buying a laptop, wanting to play PJ64 - the one I wanted had an Intel graphics card, which these boardies told me would not run PJ64 as well as a laptop with a more dedicated card (e.g GeForce).

Best of luck, Super Mario 64 is (in my experience) the 'fastest' N64 rom and seems to work reasonably smoothly on most computers. It even works really well on my sister's VAIO laptop with Intel card.

Unfortunatley 1.5.2 does not help at all, it's still stuttering pretty badly. damn. Any other suggestions or am I going to have to buy a macbook pro

You're gonna buy a new machine just to play Mario 64? Why not just play it on your Nintendo 64. If you buy a machine just buy a PC, problems solved :bouncy: :bouncy:

it's the video card that's lagging, only 64mb.
What's your friend's video?
It's a laptop, nothing practical could be done...
