Help needed in installing Project64

Hello, I am new here and am in need of assistance in helping my 10 year old son, who is not a native english speaker, to install the project64 emulator.
We have downloaded the most recent version and begun installation. However we receive error message 1606 which says "could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\.

Can anyone provide some insight on how to get past this? I have tried to find some help searching the internet but have been unsuccessful.

If you've upgraded to WinXP from Win98/ME then that could be the issue.

i love (not) the way Microsoft tells people to use REGEDIT to fix that... maybe someone can make a .reg file to do that.

I used this link http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;886549
and made the attached .reg files to try and fix the HKLM entries and exported the ones in HKCU. Use at own risk, blah blah blah...
