I was working on Grandia 2 , but it seems stuck after loading screen when it says Press Enter To start; just hangs at black screen wif loading word. (Echleon repack). I read previous post about burning it instead of using ISO.
1. The repack is in CDI
2. The Cdi each is over 700+ mb, How do u burn that when a CD can only take 700mb.

I did heed RPG gamer advise and tried settings wif Z write, vga or ntsc.
But i dunno wad is a blue bios and a red bios. IF any 1 could be of help, i thank in advance. Thank you.

i'm pretty sure that game doesnt run on chankast past the title screen...what more can i say. i'd quite like to run this game through chankast purely so i can hack it ^_^ (i have the original). best wait for the next chankast update and give up for now, burning it to disk wont help.

I think the blue bios is US and the red one is Japanese. The colour refers to the colour of the Dreamcast spiral logo as it boots the BIOS. I remember reading somewhere that chankast only supports the blue (US) bios.

BTW. Grandia 2 was also released on PC. I've got that and it runs nice. Sort of defeats the emulation thing, but if you really want to play it... :icecream:

@ aika-san, you are close but not quite. The blue Bios is the PAL (European Dreamcast). The red bios is the NTSC (US/Japanese Dreamcast). I think Chankast can run all of the bios (blue and red).

@dreamer, Grandia II echelon version work for me :)

yep, correct about the first part, the blue swirl is from the PAL dreamcast, (am i the only person to own a pal dreamcast  ) and the red one seems to be USA (and possibly JAP). it doesnt seem to matter which one you use. how much/far have you played into Grandia 2? :saint:

I gotta start doing more research.

The information you provide is interesting Cid. I was not aware of this. I've noticed that some people are having trouble booting a game which other people have no problem with. Do you think it may be that some games aren't working for some people due to the BIOS they are using to try and run it with?

Just Another Wacko ;)
Chankast was developed using a PAL BIOS. That's why some games run only with it. It also happens with other emulators like EPSXE and NO$GBA (some games won't run with some bios files and some bios files are not supported at all).

@ aika-san, The only game that require a blue (PAL) bios to run correctly is Daytona USA 2001. The rest doesn't really matter wheter it is red or blue. The dc_flash.bin determine what region(color) the swirl will be.

@ dreamer, I only play up to part where Millenia first appear and destroy the church (The first boss battle). It was only a test.

i think it has something to do with versions. Cid's version is 800mb per disc while mine is 700mb per disc even though both are echelon repack. Hmmm..
