Help - Error reporting problems

Good day. i am totally new to n64 emulation, i have dabbled with snes and megadrive emulators but am still cant really get my head round any of the technical stuff. i am running a 1.5ghz laptop with 512mb ram and an intel integrated graphics card. i have downloaded the latest version and have mario 64 and zelda oot. my problem is that the games will run for approx 1 minute and then i get a microsoft error report everytime. what am i doing wrong and am i doomed?
