Help a noob configure for Zelda

Hi all. I recently decided to give N64 emulation another go when I saw Rice's plugin recently updated. I used to use Project 64 but have never gotten Rice's to function properly with it, so I kinda gave up on the whole idea. Well the other day I decided to give 1964 a try and so far I'm amazed. It looks like I could play through the Zelda games!

What I'm hoping is that some of you guys could give me suggestions as to what settings you use to get the best possible gaming/graphical experience out of the Zelda games. I'm keeping my Rice's updated (6.01c currently) and using Federelli's high res texture pack (and getting the updates as he releases).

What are the best Rice's plugin settings to use as well as correct the Link model in the Inventory menu (if possible) is my primary concern.

My System: Athlon XP Barton/1.5gb Ram/Radeon 9800 Pro with the Catalyst 5.2 drivers.

And also, since I'm a noob, I'd like to thank everyone in the community for making N64 emulation possible at the level it is today. Rice's capability to load high resolution textures is a major leap for the community and with Federelli jumping on the task of enhancing Zelda only furthers this. I (the community) can't thank you guys enough.

Thanks in advance.

Nobody has any recommendations? Not possible to correct the Link graphic in the inventory? Not much action in these forums I guess....

Calm down... I'd help you if I had any idea how to.

I have the same problem and I know it has to do something with the framebuffer effect, but I don't know what.

Open the game in 1964, go to Plugins > Video Settings, then go to the Current Game Options tab. See all that stuff about frame buffer? I don't know what you're supposed to do, but that's where you correct it. Tell me if you get anything to work.

Zelda:Da Most Important Period
Good Question MrBill, well this is my configuration both Zelda games (aka the 2 most important n64 games, Period).I use PJ64 since it doesn't crash on me like 1964.

Video Plugin: Rice Video v6.1.1.0c
-From its default setting, all i change was the following:
-"CURRENT GAME OPTIONS"-

1)N64 FRAME BUFFER:None which is my default (This stops Majoras Mask Press Start intro Screen from going very slow)

2)RENDERING TO TEXTURE:anything but none{i use BASIC RENDER TO TEXTURE} (This makes see certain screens instead of a black screen such as:press Press Start intro Screen), playing song of time backward during swirl, removes stupid backout when before going to the next day, and probably a couple more.

You can use Texture filters to greatly enhance textures and anti alising+anisotropic filtering.

Note:Has huge Bug when switching fullscreen & window back and forth after n64 logo, you will get same Blackscreens as stated before unless you restart the emulator

Audio Plugin:Azimers HLE Audio v0.55.1 Alpha
-Plays flawless pefect sound and doesn't skip likeJabos 1.5 plugin & Schibo's(also Sound too low)

In Rom Settings (PJ64):
I turn off Advance Block Linking off to stop occasional pauses during gameplay
Rom Properties (1964):I turn off Link Code Block

Controller plugin: Nrage
Has the best controller plugin as everyone knows

this configuration works perfect for beating both games without crashes for me (this configuration might not be everyone), only problem is the Lens of Truth which still doesn't look perfect, but can see invisible stuff.

Here's the settings for Zelda: Ocarina of Time. These settings can't be used with Hi-res texture on... If Hi-res texture is on, the menu will mess up (menu doesn't shown up)... Hope this helps...

Thanks, ranny. That fixed it, but I didn't have to turn off hi-res textures to make it work. ^_^
